Should we say so happy or very happy ?

We use the words so and very quite often.

We say ‘This cake is so tasty!’ or ‘It is very cold here!’.

These words are called intensifiers in English grammar. Which means an adverb that is used to give force or emphasis.

Here’s the one minute tip:

Use very when introducing new information. Use so to talk about things you already know/have talked about before.

• This cake is very delicious. Now I know why it is so famous.

Bonus!

Keep in mind that it is not encouraged to use so and very in formal writing. It is all right in informal conversations, though.

Don’t overuse very if you want to impress others with your English.

If you want to say very hungry, say ravenous instead.

Instead of very cold, say freezing!
